MelonDev + ROBLOX

Originally, we were waiting to announce this major expansion for Melon Development until 2019, but we just couldn’t wait any longer. We’re very excited to finally make this announcement official.

Melon Development Expands to ROBLOX

ROBLOX has seen an astonishing amount of growth over the past couple years, and with that, has caused hundreds of creators, millions of viewers, and tons of amazing creations to be born. We’re so excited to be able to officially expand our services into this brand new, ever-growing world.

The heart of Melon Development will always be around creating high quality, amazing experiences and projects for our clients and partners, so expanding into ROBLOX was a no-brainer for us. The tools of the development studio combined with the power of scripting allow almost as many possibilities as Minecraft does.

ROBLOX has also seen an amazing amount of growth over the past couple years. Just to take a quick look at some of the most popular games being played there right now…

On just the games shown above, that’s over 130,000 online players! It’s such an incredible amount that we absolutely thought was worth the attention.

We’re extremely excited to be entering the space.

Why Melon Development?

From sitting on the sidelines, we’ve noticed a few things in the space when it comes to working with most ROBLOX developers. We’re looking to address all these pain points for our new clients, and more as we go.

  • Developers typically maintain project ownership.

  • Usually, developers take large cuts of project revenue, which can add up to a lot.

  • Typical developer availability is staggered or unpredictable.

Let’s address each of these problems individually.

Developers typically maintain project ownership.

This is a big one. If you’re paying lots of money for someone to produce content for you, you’d typically expect that you’d be the one who’d own it or keep it at the end of the day - but this isn’t always the case, which is what can be seen by the amount of high quality titles that are produced on a developer’s own account.

At Melon Development, you own your full project. Period.
We do not brand your game or project, maintain any royalties, or keep any ownership of any of your creation. It’s all yours. No gotchas, no conditions. That said, that doesn’t mean we don’t give your game the attention and time that it deserves.

USUALLY, developers take large cuts of project revenue.

Most developers will insist on receiving a portion of the revenue a game creates, especially if it gets extremely popular on the platform.

Melon Development will never require any royalties or cuts of your revenue.
We only get paid from the development contract, and that’s it. You will always, unconditionally, be entitled to 100% of whatever your game generates.

Typical developer availability is staggered or unpredictable.

Developers usually have other commitments, such as school or work, which could hold them back from being able to produce the content for your game full time or get that update out that you really want to.

Melon Development is as dedicated to your project as you are.
We can handle almost any release schedule by assigning additional team members to your project. Everyone who works at Melon Development is here for you and your projects, and because of that, will ensure that you’re always priority one.

So, what’s next?

The original services you’ve grown to know and see often aren’t changing. We’ll still be offering the same Web Development, Minecraft Development, Stream Development, Server Management, and much more, now with ROBLOX added in to the mix. Our diversified portfolio allows us to work with clients in all industries and allows us to continue growing.
